Psychiatric Medication Management Precepting
with Michael Polda, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Welcome to Leading Edge Mental Health. We are pleased to offer preceptorship opportunities for PMHNP students who are seeking meaningful clinical experience in psychiatric medication management. This rotation is designed to provide practical, supportive exposure to outpatient psychiatric care in both telehealth and in-person settings.
Students have the opportunity to strengthen diagnostic reasoning, observe medication management visits, improve documentation skills, and better understand how psychiatric care is delivered in a real-world outpatient setting. A standard precepting fee of $10 per hour applies.
Why Choose This Rotation?
This experience is designed for students who want a grounded, clinically relevant look at outpatient psychiatric prescribing. The goal is to provide thoughtful teaching, practical exposure, and a supportive learning environment that helps students grow in confidence and clinical judgment.
Affiliation agreements may already be in place with some institutions, and additional schools can be considered as needed.

Group Supervision
Group supervision is offered as a supportive, collaborative learning experience where students can discuss cases, ask questions, and deepen their clinical understanding in a structured setting. These sessions provide an opportunity to learn not only from direct clinical experience, but also from the perspectives and questions of peers. Emphasis is placed on clinical reasoning, medication decision-making, and real-world application of psychiatric concepts. Group supervision is designed to enhance confidence, reinforce learning, and help students integrate knowledge across cases in a practical and engaging way.
Our Commitment to Your Growth
We want your rotation to be educational, welcoming, and clinically useful. Students are given the opportunity to observe how psychiatric medication management is approached with care, professionalism, and attention to the whole person. The emphasis is not only on medications, but also on clinical thinking, communication, collaboration, and the development of sound prescribing habits.
Our aim is to help prepare you for independent practice by making the experience both informative and engaging. You will be encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and develop a stronger understanding of outpatient psychiatric care.
